the two wolves
by haywardhelen
‘There is a battle between two wolves that goes on inside each one of us’, the wise Cherokee Elder tells his grandson. ‘One wolf is anger, desire, pride, jealousy and ego. The other wolf is love, compassion, kindness, goodness and patience’.
Staring at the glowing embers of the campfire, the grandson imagines the two wolves circling each other, wary, vigilant, teeth bare.
‘Which wolf wins?’ the boy asks his grandfather.
The older man doesn’t hesitate. ‘Whichever one you feed’, he says.

I love this, thank you for the reminder.

Wise words… Am looking forward to reading this to my boys tonight.
Thanks Helen and treat others as you would like to be treated—- if only!! utopia——-Not normally in my make up to be negative however Bullies exist in our world and they don’t subscribe to the good, and they adversely affect a significant number of people, that’s why we need to include adjectives like Strong, Bold, Determined, and accountable so we can expose and deal with this type of vermin!!
I think this story is about the inner bully. I have one, annoyingly. I liked that this story addressed this in an open way.
